Returning home to the great state of Texas, she attended the University of North Texas and received a B.A. in biology, graduating cum laude. She was then accepted to Texas A&M Baylor College of Dentistry. She graduated with Deans Honors and was the only student in her class to be awarded by the American Academy of Aesthetic Dentistry for excellence in aesthetic dental work. Dr. Tim, Dr. Jodi and Dr. Kristin primarily work with our sister practice, Texas Pediatric Dentistry. However, they sometimes see patients here at Stonebridge Ranch Dentistry.
Dr. Tim Brister grew up in the Dallas/Ft. Worth area. In 2002, he graduated from Baylor College of Dentistry in Dallas. Dr. Tim then completed three additional years of specialty training in Pediatric Dentistry. This specialized program of study and hands-on experience prepared him to meet the unique needs of infants, children and adolescents, including those with special health care needs. He received a Master’s degree in Dental Public Health at the University of Iowa College of Dentistry, as well as the University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics and the Center for Disabilities and Development.
Dr. Tim is a member of the following dental organizations: Texas Academy of Pediatric Dentistry, American Academy of Pediatric Dentistry, American Dental Association, Greater Dallas Pediatric Dental Society, Texas Dental Society, and North Texas Dental Society.
He decided to specialize in pediatric dentistry because after being a general dentist, he realized that when he was working with children, he felt like he was making a difference. Dr. Tim believes kids are like sponges just waiting for someone with a little patience to show them how to do things.
Limiting his practice enables him to set up an environment designed to encourage imagination and learning. Dr. Tim enjoys being a pediatric dentist because it is one of the few professions where a professional can have fun with children all day long and watch them grow up from infancy all the way to college.
In his spare time, Dr. Tim likes spending time with his wife, Heather, daughter Paige, and son Hayden; restoring old cars; camping; cooking; and visiting small towns in Texas.
Dr. Jodi Tenney grew up in Plano, Texas and then went to Texas A&M in College Station. Her dental degree came from Baylor College of Dentistry in Dallas. She also went on to complete two extra years there to specialize in Pediatric Dentistry and received her certificate in this field. Dr. Jodi decided to specialize in pediatrics because she feels that she can make a difference. Being a mom of three young kids has given her the patience and perspective to be able to compassionately treat children. Dr. Jodi loves seeing kids that love coming to the dentist and being able to give a little encouragement to those that don’t.
In her spare time, she likes to spend time with her husband, Alex, and her three kids Ethan, Olivia and Rowan. As a family, they enjoy skiing, swimming and traveling the world.”
Dr. Kristen grew up in Texarkana, TX. She received her undergraduate degree in biology from the University of Arkansas in Fayetteville, where she was in the Pi Beta Phi sorority. After college, she made her way back to Texas and completed her dental training at Texas A&M Health Science Center, Baylor College of Dentistry. She stayed at Baylor to complete two additional years to specialize in Pediatric Dentistry. She continues to be involved with Baylor College of Dentistry by mentoring first year dental students.
Dr. Kristen stated, “Working with children is the most rewarding and fun experience I could have asked for in my profession. I’m passionate about what I do, because I have the opportunity to give my patients the best dental experience, while providing education for a lifetime of great oral health.”
Dr. Kristen is married to Brian, and they will be adding a Great Dane to their family very soon. In their free time they enjoy traveling, being outside, and spending time with their family and friends.
